Concert Volunteers |

Volunteers are needed to greet orchestra members for our schools' Concert. In partnership with the Del E. Webb Center for the Performing Arts , WCO is presenting a professional orchestra as our student orchestral experience for this year. The Scottsdale Musical Arts Orchestra will perform. |

Volunteer to make Drawing Baskets |
|
|
Friends of music has a drawing for a gift basket at each concert. Proceeds from these drawings go to the Arts in Education Fund which permits us to provide musical programs in schools.
A volunteer is also needed to obtain gift items for the basket; it may be the volunteer making the baskets or others. |

Environment |

The school has a vegetable and flower garden partially supported by grants. First Grade teacher, Lowanna Perry would welcome help with this.
The school also has an environmental trail where flora and fauna are identified, there is a human sundial and much more. Students keep up the trail but this is a big job and adult assistance is appreciated. |

Visitor Center Host |
|
|
Welcome visitors from around the world to the preserve and introduce them to the natural and human history of the preserve. Desired commitment of 1-2 shifts per month. Seasonal hosts welcome. Shifts are:
mid-Sept. - mid - May 14, Wed.-Sun., 8 a.m.– 12:30 or 12:30-5 p.m.;
mid- May - mid-Sept.,Fri.-Sun.7-11 a.m.

Trail Steward |

Maintain, reroute and stabilize trails, clear brush, repair fencing, eradicate invasive plants, and spruce up the desert garden. Seasonal stewards welcome.
Shifts are:
mid-Sept.- mid-May, Sat. 8 a.m.—noon;
mid-May - mid-Sept. Sat. 7-11 a.m.

Trail Docent |

Lead adult and student groups on interpretive nature walks within the preserve to provide a high quality visitor experience. Tours are scheduled Wed.- Sat. as requested. Training provided.

As an all-volunteer community-based organization, The Friends of Music depends on the generosity and good will of people who offer their time and talent to organize, promote and stage professional quality live musical performances for our community. Opportunities to serve range from one-time helpers to committed regulars. Jobs available include: publicity or grant writer, photographer, food service or preparation, decoration, mailing assistance, list maintenance, concert set-up, various leadership roles, and more. |
