01/10/2018 Group Garden Opportunity
The Meals on Wheels Kitchen at Community Support Connections – Meals on Wheels and More, prepares and delivers 300-350 quality meals to seniors and adults with disabilities in our community each day. We strive to ensure that our meals are appetizing and nutritious for our clients. In order to help grow our Meals on Wheels program, a garden was created in 2016 to help us carry out our mission by cultivating our own fresh ingredients to be used in our Tender Loving Kitchen. We are looking for a passionate and hardworking volunteer to assist in the garden to ensure it reaches its full potential. Your group will carry out garden operations including watering, seeding, fertilizing, weeding, harvesting and maintaining the garden. Your group of volunteers will work together to complete all necessary garden duties in order to supply our Meals on Wheels kitchen with freshly grown produce.

05/01/2013 Sunrise’s Volunteer Program!
Thank you very much for your interest in Sunrise’s Volunteer Program! Volunteers are involved in all aspects of Sunrise – they are the backbone of our program! Volunteers must be a minimum of 15 years of age, and those assisting in therapy lessons will attend one on-hands on training session (no experience required!) During Summer 2013, Camp Sunrise runs Monday through Friday, day time only. Volunteers make a minimum commitment of 1-2 hours per week, but often come out for a half-day or full day each week or for a full week – the summer schedule is quite flexible. Many young people join Sunrise as volunteers throughout the summer -- this is a great way for high school students to obtain their community hours. There are also opportunities for volunteers to assist with gardening, painting, barn chores, property & building maintenance, housekeeping, mailings and office functions, special events and fundraising. This can be done on an irregular basis. Contact Lynne O’Brien, Sunrise Operations & Volunteer Manager to arrange for an Orientation visit to Sunrise and details regarding upcoming training clinics. Thank you! lynne@sunrise-therapeutic.ca; 519-837-0558 x 31.
