Volunteer Driver
The Canadian Cancer Society, Waterloo Region Community Office is looking for individuals who are interested in volunteering for our Wheels of Hope transportation program as a volunteer driver. This involves driving clients to and from cancer-related appointments. Our drivers provide much needed transportation to appointments for clients who typically have no other way there. During a time filled with stress our drivers give our clients one less thing to worry about.
Days (Monday to Friday) and times are flexible, training is provided and a mileage reimbursement is available. Volunteers must have a valid driver’s license and insurance, a safe driving record, access to a reliable vehicle, and must complete the appropriate screening and training.
We are in need of drivers in the areas of Cambridge, Kitchener-Waterloo, Wellesley, Wilmot and Woolwich Townships for both local and out of town trips. This is a great way to meet new people and support those in your community!
You are welcome to visit www.cancer.ca/volunteernow to apply to be a volunteer driver for Wheels of Hope. If you have any questions or would like more information please contact Nicole at 519-886-8888 or by email at namorim@ontario.cancer.ca
Relay For Life Volunteers Needed
Throughout June, thousands of people across Ontario will walk or run together around a track or path at a school, park or fairground, at one of our local Relay For Life events. In doing so, they will pass a baton to their fellow participants working together towards one common goal: to save lives by going the distance.
Give a few hours to the fight against cancer and create memories that last a lifetime!
There are many areas in which you can volunteer your time at Relay For Life. As an event day volunteer you could greet people when they arrive at the event, serve food, coordinate parking, help run our activities, sell luminaries, clean up when the event is over, and much more. We are looking for volunteers who like helping people & want to have fun! Please see below to learn more about how to volunteer at our Relay For Life events in Waterloo Region.
