Who Are We?
Ozark Quilt Trail, Inc. is a collaborative partnership between members of Gone To Pieces Quilt Guild, Pulaski County Museum & Historical Society, and Pulaski County Tourism Bureau & Visitors Center. The vision for Ozark Quilt Trail began in earnest in September 2014 when Liz Duplissie, Bonnie Kinkel, Kathi Crawford, Portia Ellis, and Alex Fry, all of Gone To Pieces Quilt Guild, began meeting with Denise Seevers of Pulaski County Museum & Historical Society and Laura Huffman of Pulaski County Tourism Bureau & Visitors Center. Sadly, Portia Ellis had to step away from the project, but Crocker Mayor James Morgan was tapped to round out the committee. A long term plan was laid out and the members, now all part of the Executive Board, began taking the steps to make their vision a reality. The Board has completed the 501 (c)(3) process and looks forward to fund raising and installing more quilt blocks. Robin Beeman Carpenter rounds out our talented & enthusiastic crew. Quilt blocks will be installed at historic sites, points of interests, and barns across Pulaski County and surrounding areas in phases. The first phase will highlight Route 66, a prominent east-west corridor throughout the region. Also known as the Mother Road, this route is known for its Americana and is sought out by travelers and "roadies" from across the United States and around the world. Displaying handcrafted Ozark Mountain folk art along the route will enhance the visitor's experience while they are in the area and encourage travelers to include Pulaski County into their road trip itinerary. Additional phases include Highway 7, Highway 17, Highway 28, and Highway 133, and secondary and dirt roads in the area. If you own a historic property or point of interest in the Pulaski County area and are interested in hosting a Quilt Square please contact Ozark Quilt Trail, Inc. President Denise Seevers at email@example.com or 573.855.3644 for more information and details. To suggest a site please contact Vice President Laura Huffman at firstname.lastname@example.org or Secretary Bonnie Kinkel at email@example.com. To make a financial contribution or to sponsor a quilt block please contact Treasurer Liz Duplissie at firstname.lastname@example.org or 573.774.5094. Ozark Quilt Trail is a 501 (c)(3) organization. To follow the progress of Ozark Quilt Trail as it winds its way through Pulaski County please sign up for their email list by contacting Marketing Manager Laura Huffman at email@example.com or 573.336.6355. The OQT Board would like to thank Pulaski County Growth Alliance and Greg Stratman, Richland City Administrator, for their support and assistance. The Ozark Quilt Trail logo was designed by first year Graphic Design student Mackenzie Tracey-Parnell. Mackenzie's logo was chosen through a design challenge held with Mrs. Grove's class at Waynesville Career Center. Mackenzie specializes in making simple clean designs that are easy to understand and beautiful to look at. Mackenzie's design incorporates elements of the Ozark Trail quilt block. Thank You for making our organization such an amazing logo!
"The mission of the Ozark Quilt Trail is to bring our communities together, and entice travelers to visit Pulaski County and surrounding areas, by establishing a public display of art that celebrates the folk art of quilting and quilting traditions. We will preserve, present and promote our rural communities roots; honor our farming and family traditions; promote agri-tourism in our county, and bring focus and pride to our downtowns, and public areas. We will educate citizens and visitors on our Ozark Mountain heritage, historic sites, and landmarks. Community-wide involvement, regional & state-wide promotion and sustainable planning will have long-term, cultural, social and economic impacts. We will piece together Pulaski County's vibrant history and heritage one quilt block at a time."
