Since 1926, the Martin County Chapter has been serving the residents of Martin County with various programs. The Red Cross provides the following services in Martin County: •Disaster Services; The Red Cross assists any member of the Martin County community who experiences a verified disaster (e.g., home fire). Staff and volunteers work with community partners, first responders and other agencies to meet the needs of the individuals affected by disaster. Most of our clients are families at risk of homelessness, hardship, and/or a transition to poverty without assistance following a disaster. •International Services; The American Red Cross, as a member of the global Red Cross Red Crescent network, provides assistance to families separated internationally by armed conflict, disaster or humanitarian emergencies. Refugees and immigrants therefore comprise the local target population for International Services. •Preparedness Programs; Preparedness outreach programming is available for all persons, schools, organizations, and businesses. There are no eligibility restrictions, and educational presentations are age-appropriate. We do target programs for specific age groups where we have identified greater risk or vulnerability. •Service to the Armed Forces; Any person connected with the armed forces, including Active Duty personnel, National Guard, Reservists, ROTC, U.S. Coast Guard, recruiters, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Military Retirees, Veterans, and families of all those listed who are in need of services are all eligible for assistance.
