The Sailfish District of the Gulf Stream Council, BSA oversees the BSA programs utilized by community charter partners (churches, community and civic organizations) in Martin County: Cub Scouts for boys in 1st-5th grade, Boy Scouts for boys in 6th grade-age 18, Venturing for boys and girls in 9th grade-age 21, and career-focused Exploring for young men and women in high school and college.

The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by installing in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.
