Happy Endings Animal Rescue Sanctuary

We are passionate about educating children and adults on the care and maintenance of domestic animals. We feel that if we teach how to properly care for pets, the number of incidents of neglect, abuse and injuries to animals will be reduced. The Sanctuary also rehabilitates animals in our care that have come from abusive or neglectful situations. We gently guide them to become well mannered and loyal pets. Our sanctuary program consists of housing animals in a clean, spacious environment, tailored to each animal’s specific needs. We provide diets that meet high nutritional standards, accompanied by the best medical care available. In addition, we practice preventative medicine on a daily basis, which is an important part of our program. Our organization has large and small veterinarians and other animal professionals on our advisory board to ensure that the animals will truly have a happy ending. Our Horse Helpers program was inspired by our mutual passion for horses, and by shared desire to improve the lives of children. Happy Endings Animal Sanctuary and American Charities Foundation have collaborated to provide an innovative equine program using rescued horses in need of a second chance to engage at-risk youth.

Los Padres ForestWatch

Los Padres ForestWatch is the only nonprofit organization dedicated solely to protecting the Los Padres National Forest. The Santa Ynez Valley serves as a key gateway to explore and enjoy these magnificent public lands. These forest lands are not protected. This is because national forest - unlike national parks - are open to oil drilling, mining, logging, commercial livestock grazing, off-road vehicles, and other development. These activities can pollute our sources of clean water, harm wildlife habitat, ruin scenic views, and degrade the outdoor recreation experience for all of us. ForestWatch combines policy and legal advocacy, scientific collaboration, community outreach, and volunteer stewardship with innovative strategy and field work. We've become one of our region's premiere land and wildlife conservation forces, serving as a powerful voice for these wilderness landscapes, wildlife, free-flowing rivers, and recreation in the great outdoors.

Wildling Museum

The Wildling Museum, newly moved to Solvang, is where art and nature meet. We host 3 to 5 exhibitions at any one time, present frequent lectures, booksigning, art workshops, field classes and more. At the Wildling we use art as a tool to inspire a conservation ethic in our community and visiting public.
