08/13/2013 Train Garden - Mechanic
The Oregon Garden's train garden is in need of an experienced model train volunteer to help with the running and maintenance of the train, track, and equipment. Prior knowledge or experience is required. The train runs April through October (based on weather). The train is G scale. Are you a people person? Do you also love plants? if so, we want YOU! The Oregon Garden has two openings in the Retail Nursery - located next to the Visitor Center. Weekly shifts are available Friday or Saturday. Shift times are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. (some flexibility here). This position helps visitors find plants, answers some questions related to the plants (we have additional resources to help with this), and in general, welcome our visitors. 08/13/2013 Christmas in the Garden
Share the Christmas spirit by volunteering at the Oregon Garden's first annual Christmas in the Garden event. Volunteers are needed to help greet visitors, tend the fire pits, and work in the gift wrapping station. On the second weekend, additional volunteers are needed to work as Santa's helpers and to assist in the reindeer visiting area. Shifts run from 3:30 to 8:30 p.m. The event occurs every Friday, Saturday and Sunday between November 29th and December 22nd. Individuals, pairs or groups are welcome to volunteer. Join us in this fundraising effort at Oktoberfest in Mount Angel! Volunteers are needed to help in the Oregon Garden Foundation's food booth, located in the Biergarten (Festhalle). Duties include cashiering, food prep, order prep, clean up. Shifts available Thursday September 12 - Sunday September 15th. Shift times are 11-4 pm; 2-6 pm; 4-8 pm; 6-10 pm; 8-midnight.
