Who Are We?
The Cayton Ranger Station Foundation was created to preserve a unique and important landmark- the Cayton Ranger Station-for the education and enjoyment of the public. Our vision is to share with you the special experience of visiting, in its natural setting, the second-oldest ranger station in the United States. Our hope is that you will leave this place enriched, educated, and a bit excited- having touched your heritage in this unique way.

Our Mission
The formal objectives and purposes of the Cayton Ranger Station Foundation are: To stabilize, restore, and preserve the historic USDA Forest Service Cayton Ranger Station, circa 1910, with its structures and immediate surroundings. To create opportunities for people to become educated about the life of an early federal goverment forest ranger and his wife as they lived and worked amoung pioneers and settlers in the Battlement National Forest. And to promote the appropriate use of the Cayton Ranger Station by the individuals and nonprofit groups for educational, cultural and recreational purposes.
