Who Are We?
Since 1971, Coachella Valley Rescue Mission has been an oasis, a place of refuge for the homeless and needy in our valley. We are a safe haven, a place of rest for the weary and a place where daily physical and spiritual needs may be met. Over the years the mission has continued to meet the ever growing needs of individuals, who for a variety of reasons have found themselves without the basic necessities of life. A dedicated staff and volunteers serve more than 175,000 hot meals annually and provide shelter to thousands of men and women with children. Food, clothing, and showers are also provided for those who do not shelter with us.
Those in need of recovery due to loss of job, home, health, emotional, mental or spiritual support or physical or substance abuse find themselves drawn to our ministry. We are to facilitate that reconciliation through the available means of this Mission, i.e. food, clothing, shelter, counseling and discipleship. Through these modalities we pave the way for them to be reconciled.

Qualifications: * Stand for at least one hour. * Lift 10 pounds. * Under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.Mentors/Instructors/Tutors
To be a volunteer for one of the Coachella Valley Rescue Mission Program positions you must have the heart of a servant, have an inviting manner; and be an encourager. The CVRM Fellowship/Mentor is a one-on-one relationship building program. It is recommended that minimum of one-hour per week be set aside for interaction specific to the Fellowship/Mentor Application. Mentors develop a positive, God centered, relationship with a client who is participating in an intensive program of restorations. Mentors provide a strategic context for reminding individuals of God’s plan to restore their lives and for cheering progress towards their future. The Tutor/Instructor’s responsibilities include but are not limited to: •Conduct sessions one-on-one or in a classroom. •Provide clients with academic assistance on the subjects assigned. •Evaluate client’s progress. •Provide bi-weekly written comments and observations on the client assigned. •Coordinate with the tutorial or Instructor Program staff regarding student attendance. •Schedule meetings with program Supervisor regarding particular students as needed.Group Service Day
Coachella Valley Rescue Mission is a place where the church group can work together to be of service to others. For businesses, serving at CVRM provides a wonderful opportunity for employees to work together through a rewarding experience that is beneficial for the company, the employee and the entire community. Duties and Qualifications will vary depending on the project. Log onto www.cvrm.org/volunteercentralFood Prep
We could use volunteer support preparing meals. Meal demand has increased from over 750 meals per day to over 950 meals due to closure of West End Shelter. Thank you.
