06/15/2015 Mentors/Instructors/Tutors
To be a volunteer for one of the Coachella Valley Rescue Mission Program positions you must have the heart of a servant, have an inviting manner; and be an encourager. The CVRM Fellowship/Mentor is a one-on-one relationship building program. It is recommended that minimum of one-hour per week be set aside for interaction specific to the Fellowship/Mentor Application. Mentors develop a positive, God centered, relationship with a client who is participating in an intensive program of restorations. Mentors provide a strategic context for reminding individuals of God’s plan to restore their lives and for cheering progress towards their future. The Tutor/Instructor’s responsibilities include but are not limited to: •Conduct sessions one-on-one or in a classroom. •Provide clients with academic assistance on the subjects assigned. •Evaluate client’s progress. •Provide bi-weekly written comments and observations on the client assigned. •Coordinate with the tutorial or Instructor Program staff regarding student attendance. •Schedule meetings with program Supervisor regarding particular students as needed.
