Serve Moses Lake is an outreach of the Moses Lake Ministerial Association. Churches (of the Ministerial Association) have combined their resources (volunteers, materials, etc.) to assist ML residents in need. Serve’s goal is to make Moses Lake a better community by "helping people find the help they need, encouraging reconciliation, and connecting them to the local Church."  The organization offers a full range of services to meet the spiritual, physical and emotional needs of Moses Lake residents through a coordinated intake site.  It is Serve’s desire to reach out to people with the Love of Jesus Christ and to offer them hope. During its intake process and service to clients, Serve makes an effort to connect them to a local Christian church. The volunteers at the Serve Moses Lake Clearinghouse Office are followers of Jesus Christ who worship at local churches but are not trained professionals. Their counsel is based upon biblical truths and hearts of love. It is, however, limited to personal experience and an individual’s understanding of available services in Moses Lake. Although Serve Moses Lake is a Christian-based outreach of the Moses Lake Ministerial Association, we do not discriminate or withhold assistance due to a client’s religious (or non-religious) affiliation. However, we are limited to serving only Moses Lake residents. While we want to help our clients find the help they need, we attempt to help them take personal responsibility. All requests for financial assistance are carefully scrutinized, which includes a verification process. Because Reconciliation is a core value, we may deny a client's request until attempts to reconcile are made. In addition, we may ask them to pursue various local resources before obtaining any financial assistance from Serve Moses Lake. The Serve clearinghouse office does not have on hand any monetary aid such as cash, checks, and gas or grocery vouchers. Instead, upon our recommendation, a local Serve-affiliated church agrees to meet the pressing financial need. In addition to our clearinghouse office, Serve Moses Lake also operates: 1. "Community Meal": Serve’s community meal (hosted at The Moose Lodge, on Broadway Ave.) is available Monday – Wednesday & Fridays, 12 – 1pm. It is offered FREE to our community to ANYONE who needs it. 2. "Transformation House": a Christian, nonprofit ministry that exists to disciple men and women, giving them an understanding that they have a hope and a future in Jesus, and an opportunity to experience God's transforming power. The program is a year-long commitment to making drastic life changes in order to get on a productive path, away from any life-controlling problems.
