01/07/2015 Tools
Our FTC team really builds bots from the ground up! There are some tools that they have found very necessary and are currently borrowing, but would love to have for just team use. We always value used tools as good as new tools! Most of our “shop” is hand me downs from our Dad’s upgrades! 01/07/2015 Sponsor a young Engineer
Many of the kids in our program have families that can not afford the costs of having a kid in the program. We try our best to get a yearly sponsor for them. For about 250 dollars, you can sponsor a kid on the FLL teams (ages 9-14. Sponsorship helps pay for their travel to local events, team shirts, team notebook, costume for skit and other necessary supplies. For about 500 you can sponsor a kid on the FTC team (ages 14-18). Sponsorship helps pay for their travel to statewide events, team shirts, team notebook, eye and ear protection and other necessary supplies.

01/07/2015 Robot Parts
The FTC bot is made from a kit by Pitsco/Lego. It takes motors, gears, tire etc. AndyMark, Pitsco and HiTechnic are the three companies we get parts from. Can you imagine trying to build and worry about if you have enough bolts & nuts?

01/07/2015 Legos
We use tons of legos for both teams and day camp. We really appreciate it when kids out grow their legos and they donate them to help out our teams.

01/07/2015 Old NXT Sets
NXT are the older robot kits from Lego. We use these kits in day camp. So the more NXT's the more kids that can attend day camp.

01/07/2015 Robot Kits - EV3
EV3's($350) these are robot kits…Can you imagine 5 kids playing with the same toy? This is similar to 5 kids trying to program and build with a single bot. On this years evaluations, all the kids wanted more time with the bot…with only 2 bots per team I can understand their frustration.

01/07/2015 Laptops
A new laptop ($500) would mean an increase in member involvement in programming. Ever tried to create something complex with 5 people using the same computer? That’s what we do now! One more computer for each team would mean 3 people using the same laptop…that’s a much better number for success. Each time we get the funds for a laptop we try to wait, until we get funding for three laptops and each team gets a new one. We try to be as fair as we can between the teams.

01/07/2015 Heater - 6000sq ft
Our RoboLair has two shop heaters and is very cold! We need a large commercial furnace. Not only is it very difficult for kids to build robots in the cold, its very hard for robots to work in the cold.
