We have provided and continue to provide Health, Safety and Environmental Awareness education to children of all ages and their families. Our goal is to educate the children using a multifaceted platform so that they may become adults that make better, more informed decisions and become more productive members of society. We approach the event in a fun manner and the children don't realize how much they are learning. It is proven that kids that are more educated have better self esteem and have less chance of committing crimes or showing signs of hostility, as well as becoming better employees and eventually employers. This is our 6th year and we have had many children and their parents report back to us that the children did not do drugs because of something they had heard from the anti drug group that was there or a child joined karate or dance after they were able to spend some time with the teachers and other students, and in return their self esteem was lifted. There are many parents that are very grateful that we do complete finger print/picture ID kits for thousands of kids. Many parents have said that they were very comforted that their children learned things such as water safety, fire safety, stranger danger and the list goes on. We have close to a hundred activities for the children. There is another side to what we do, and that is to put families in contact with many organizations that can help indigent families get resources such as food, clothing, shelter, etc. We have free dental care, pediatric check-ups, eye exams and other healthcare programs for those and every other family. We try to make it a one stop shop to get as much education and help for all the children and their families in the community and the surrounding area. We also have an emphasis on such things as recycling, water conservation and growing a natural garden. These are just a few of the activities that we could fit in this explanation.
