Who Are We?
The B.B. Comer Bridge is scheduled for demolition in 2015, after the completion of the new span. The bridge was named to the Alabama Register of Landmarks and Heritage in October 2013, and it will be submitted subsequently to the National Register of Historic Places. We are striving to save the bridge from being demolished and to repurpose it as a pedestrian and bike path that will provide opportunities for jobs, commercial development, the arts and interpretation of the area's cultural and economic history. To accomplish this, we need to * Conduct a site visit by bridge preservation experts/engineers with Workin' Bridges. * Obtain site plans produced by the bridge preservation experts/engineers with Workin' Bridges. * Raise funds and the public awareness about the bridge and its history. * Solicit the support of people who will share the bridge's story. * Communicate and partner with public officials at the local, state and national levels as well as businesses and vendors interested in enhancing the bridge for tourists and residents.

Our Mission
Our mission is to preserve the B. B. Comer Bridge as a lasting monument; to create a memorial to those who worked to build a landmark across the Tennessee River; to create a venue to experience the river landscape that will provide revenue for both Scottsboro and Jackson County by increasing tourist dollars; and to preserve local history.
