Who Are We?
Grand Prairie United Charities (GPUC) is dedicated to providing immediate emergency assistance and referrals to the residents of Grand Prairie. Our services include, but are not limited to: On Site Food Pantry, Rent/ Mortgage/Shelter Assitance, Utility Assistance (electric, gas, water), Prescription/Medication Assistance and Information/Referral. Every Wednesday between the hours of 9:00 am - 1:00 pm, the North Texas Food Bank Education & Outreach Coordinator will be at GPUC to provide application assistance for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP - formerly known as Food Stamps), Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), Childrenâs Health Insurance Program (CHIP), Medicaid and Womenâs Health and Qualified Medicare Beneficiaries (QMB). The first Thursday of every month, People and Nutrition (PAN), a commodity supplemental program, provides nutritious food at not cost to qualified participants (Pregnant Women, Breast Feeding/Post Partum Women, Infants (0-1 years old) Children (1-5 years old), and Senior Citizens age 60 and older.
