The South Glastonbury Public Library is one of the oldest all-volunteer libraries in the country. Established in 1926, it operates under the dedication of volunteers as a lending library and neighborhood cultural center servicing Glastonbury and surrounding areas. This much loved library is located in a historic 1828 National Landmark building which is in need of major preservation. Currently, the Library is closed and cannot be reopened until restoration work is completed. The Library is now in the midst of a major fund drive to raise the $150,000 required to complete this much needed restoration.
Our Mission
To restore and reopen the Library.
