Who Are We?
Promise Place is a domestic violence shelter program providing comprehensive services to victims of domestic violence and their children. Services we provide include: 24 Hour Crisis Hotline 770 460 1604 Emergency Domestic Violence Shelter Weekly Support Groups Legal Advocacy Teen Dating Violence Prevention Program Safety Planning Crisis Intervention Children's Programs Community Education Emergency Needs Assistance Promise Place works diligently to promote education and awareness in the community through many events held throughout the year. The teen dating violence prevention program reaches out to teenagers who are in danger of becoming victims of teen dating violence. Promise Place recognizes that in our efforts to stop the cycle of violence we must include these children so that they can be educated before becoming victims themselves.
Promise Place exists to prevent domestic violence through awareness programs, educational training and providing safe environments for the victims and their families, utilizing legal advocacy, emergency shelters and transitional housing.

Includes but is not limited to all standard office practices such as data input, filing, answering office phone, greeting guests/clients, taking messages, receptionist, etc.
Being available at the phone to take incoming crisis line calls. Crisis calls do not come in every minute of every day. There are times when there are no calls. May be combined with Administrative.Childcare
Babysit children of the women in the shelter, transitional house, or community while they attend support group sessions. May occur at the shelter or the office common room. Background check required.Donation Room
Every Thursday we take in donations of food, clothing, house wares, and other usable items. Intake, sort, package, reorganize, and shelve.Fundraising/Special Projects
Each event or project will have specific needs and there will be options.Maintenance
May include yard work, interior building repairs, exterior building repairs, painting.
Could include picking up cell phones from existing cell drops or food donations. Some lifting may be involved.Publicity

Deliver our Teen Dating Violence program to 9th graders in Fayette, Spalding, Pike, and/or Upson counties. Successful completion of the training course is required as well as a committment to volunteer for at least 2 class periods twice each year (4 classes).
