Who Are We?
The Excelsior-Lake Minnetonka Historical Society is an all-volunteer organization whose Archives and Museum hold a large collection of historical artifacts, photographs and documents from the south Lake Minnetonka area. The Society also publishes books about this area's history and presents lectures and programs on topics of local historical interest. Visit our Archives at 261 School Avenue, Excelsior, Wednesday 9-noon. Visit our Museum at 305 Water Street, May-September, Thursday 3-6 pm and Saturday 10 am-3 pm. Admission is free.

Our Mission
The Excelsior-Lake Minnetonka Historical Society preserves, documents and classifies the physical history of the Lake Minnetonka area; provides a means by which everyone can share in the history of the lake area; and stimulates interest in the cultural heritage of the area.
