AASK (Aid to Adoption of Special Kids) is a non-profit agency with over 25 years of experience finding relationships for children in the Arizona foster care system ensuring every child has someone who cares. Our commitment to families is to develop a partnership based on transparency, respect, and service. AASK has evolved over the years and created innovative programs to work with foster, kinship, and adoptive families to provide safe and loving homes. Volunteers mentor children living in group homes, and help reunite siblings separated by foster care. We have 3 locations in the valley and our staff, including bilingual employees, is responsive and available to provide consistent support, resources, and training every step of the way. | |

Arizona Veteran StandDown Alliance |

The Arizona Veteran StandDown Alliance is a DBA of the Arizona Coalition to End Homelessness and was formed not only to manage the Maricopa County StandDown but to assist in funding the StandDown events that occur throughout the state. A StandDown is community-based event where organizations come together to provide annual, one to three day events that bring together the State's homeless and at-risk military veterans, connecting them with services ranging from:VA HealthCare, Mental Health Services, Clothing, Meals, Emergency Shelter, Transitional and Permanent Housing, ID/ Drivers License's, Court Services and Legal Aide, Showers and Haircuts and myriad other services and resources. StandDowns are held in different counties throughout the State with the largest, serving approximately 1,850 veterans, at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum at the Arizona State Fairgrounds in Maricopa County on Jnuary of this year. While its primary goal is helping homeless veterans access the resources needed (including housing) to regain their highest level of independence; its secondary goal is to bring our community and service providers together in a collaborative format that can build relationships throughout the year that positively benefit homeless and at-risk veterans. Ultimately, it is our hope that the events will create the awareness, political/community will and consistent data necessary to acquire the on-going resources it will take to end veteran homelessness once and for all. | |

Each spring we offer children in Chandler the opportunity to come together to learn the fundamentals of baseball while also learning about honesty, integrity, loyalty, courage, and respect. Our season begins with practices in early February, with an opening day in March, and games through May. We bring children and their families together off the field as well through a Family Day event/picnic, attending Diamondback games and ASU baseball games, and other fun community activities. | |

At Helen's Hope Chest, we provide these children and their new foster families from all across Arizona with a place to "shop" for these supplies in a warm and welcoming boutique-like environment. Thanks to your generous donations, we are able to provide these items free of cost to 650-750 clients monthly so the family and child can focus on healing and living their best life possible. | |

We provide assistance for individuals and families in need in the East Valley. Each month we feed more than 3,500 people. Most of our clients are working families. They are employed full-time or part-time, and yet still are in need of supplemental food. With seven clinic sites across the Valley, we see thousands of uninsured or underinsured patients each month. Mission of Mercy is expanding and opening a clinic site in Chandler, starting March 2. Any one in need is welcome to make an appointment. There are no fees or costs or income guidelines. We are 100% privately funded. | |

NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness, is the nation's largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness through providing support, education and advocacy. NAMI Valley of the Sun is a local affiliate of NAMI Arizona and serves the Greater Phoenix Area. We offer evidence-based education and support, maintain a presence in the community, participate in local legislative advocacy efforts, and sponsor community building activities and events. We are working diligently to increase knowledge of early warning signs and access to early intervention programs, decrease the stigma associated with having an illness which often discourages people from coming forward and seeking treatment, and equipping individuals and families with the skills and supports needed to promote a full recovery. Our goal is to help those we serve with quality food, clothing, employment, housing, treatment center referrals and other necessities to better their lives and/or the lives of family members. This is being accomplished through associate agencies and direct participation in group homes and treatment centers.
