Our programs are designed to build skills that help people move out of the cycle of poverty. We offer a full range of programs within our facility including: the provision of Emergency Food Assistance, the Food Co-operative program, Infant, Youth, Adult and Seniors Program and Employment Readiness Programs. Programs provided by outside agencies available at our facility include: Family Counselling Centre of Cambridge and North Dumfries; Waterloo Region Community Legal Services and ACCKWA.
Our Mission At the Cambridge Self-Help Food Bank, our services extend beyond simply providing food. Weâre more than âa Food Bankâ. We provide both emergency and proactive services that help people either recover from or avoid another crisis. Although weâre best known for our food distribution, we also offer a broad range of support programs that assist people to become, and remain, self sufficient. These programs can help build self-esteem, instill confidence, and create hope where none existed before.

Fundraising Committee Members Needed
The Cambridge Self-Help Food Bank is looking to expand its fundraising committee. This volunteer opportunity is an excellent match for energetic, committed individuals who are passionate about social justice issues. Committee members are expected to fully participate in all aspects of the committee work including attending meetings and supporting the two main Fundraising Events as they are able.
Our Mission: The Cambridge Self-Help Food Bank offers food and support to people and community groups in need within Cambridge and North Dumfries. We encourage self-reliance through programs and services.
Overview of the Committee
The Fundraising Events Committee will be responsible for the planning and implementation of our two main Fundraising Events, the Brown Bag Lunch & the Coin Harvest. With the goal of raising funds for Children’s needs in our community.
Orientation: Approximately 1 hour
Monthly Meetings: 1-2 hours
Event- related tasks, Event day – agreed schedule
