Alzheimer Society is the leading nationwide health charity for people living with Alzheimer's disease and other dementias. Alzheimer Society Waterloo Wellington works to improve the quality of life for people living with dementia, their family and friends, and the general public by providing support, education, and resources in the Waterloo Wellington community. Alzheimer Society Waterloo Wellington amalgamated in 2014 from there Alzheimer Societies of Cambridge,Guelph Wellington, and Kitchener Waterloo.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Waterloo Region

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Waterloo Region provides volunteer mentors to over 1300 youth each year. We believe that the healthy development of every child is enhanced by a positive, nurturing, mentoring relationship. We do not receive government funding and we do not charge fee for service. We are solely reliant on support from our community. You can help us by supporting our programs. With over 200 children waiting to be matched we need your support. It takes only a minute to change a life.

Cambridge Self-Help Food Bank

Visitors to the Cambridge Self-Help Food Bank are surprised by the variety of programs that are offered. Like most Food Banks we provide Emergency Food Assistance to assist with an immediate need. Our programs which cannot all be listed here run from a Food Co-operative program, Employment and personal counselling, to a variety of programs for families a cloth diaper program, nutrition programs, Backpack for Bookworms and Street Outreach assistance. Over 1,600 families are assisted by our Food Bank each month.

Cambridge Shelter Corporation

Cambridge Shelter Corporation is an incorporated, charitable, non-profit, United Way partner agency that is accredited through Imagine Canada. We provide shelter, programming, and many essential services to homeless and other marginalized people. We have 20 supportive housing bachelor apartments on site.

Home Hospice Association|The Bello Project

The Bello Project is a service, under the umbrella of the Home Hospice Association, that provides volunteers to go into the homes of terminally ill pet people and help with the care of their animals in the home. The Bello Project works alongside humane societies and rescues to provide new homes for animals that have lost their pet parents, once the time has come, but until that time comes we aim to keep the pet and pet parent united for as long as possible. We are a non-profit registered Canadian Charity working in communities to help people with terminal illness.

Homer Watson House & Gallery

Homer Watson House & Gallery, built in 1835, is the homestead of Homer Watson, Canada’s first noted landscape artist (1855-1936). The Gallery, constructed in 1906, is one of the oldest operating galleries in the Province of Ontario. Watson’s early Victorian house was also the home of the renowned Doon School of Fine Arts during the 1950’s and 60’s and drew such artists as Fred Varley and Carl Schaefer. In 1955, the Homer Watson House was officially recognized with a plaque by the national Historic Sites and Monuments of Canada. In 1980, the house and surrounding three-acre property were designated under the Ontario Heritage Act as being of architectural and historic significance. Today, the Gallery operates as a vibrant and active arts centre that encourages artistic expression though the museum and historical artwork, contemporary exhibitions, visual art programs for all ages and skill levels, curriculum based school programs, special events and rental opportunities.

HopeSpring Cancer Support Centre

Until a cure for cancer is found, those facing the diagnosis need a source of support & information in order to cope with the challenges. Since 1995 HopeSpring Cancer Support Centre has offered free individual and group programs and services to people living with cancer and their families. Langs

Langs (formerly Langs Farm Village Association) was established as a community development project in 1978 by a group of citizens and service providers concerned about vandalism and the lack of accessible services in the community. These individuals believed that the establishment of a community-based organization would play a positive and preventative role in the neighbourhood. Langs is a neighbourhood based organization, but has become so much more! Langs has grown to become a dynamic, respected multi-service organization that uses a community development approach to provide comprehensive health, social and recreational services that are responsive to the changing needs of our community.

Nutrition for Learning

Nutrition for Learning has been a registered charitable organization since 1997. We support community based nutrition programs committed to improving the learning capacity, health and well being of children and youth in Waterloo Region. Research has proven that students coming to school hungry do not perform well in the classroom, have difficulty concentrating, display behavioral problems, are less alert and are often lethargic. Our programs impact the physical, cognitive, behavioral and academic needs of children and youth in Waterloo Region.

Ontario Christian Gleaners

How are the people of Waterloo Region feeding millions of hungry people all around the world using our local harvest? This incredible operation, affectionately known as "The Gleaners", operating since 2008, produces over 7 million servings of soup a year for 40 different countries. Come visit or join us to see how surplus produce is made into nutritious, dried soup to help feed the world’s hungry. Hours of operation (for volunteers): Monday – Friday 8:30am – 12 noon

Telecare Cambridge Distress Center

Telecare Cambridge is your local distress centre serving Cambridge, Kitchener, Waterloo, Guelph and surrounding areas since 1981. Trained volunteers are available to take your calls 24/7. Our mission is to provide active listening and emotional support so individuals in the community do not have to suffer in silence. Telecare Cambridge exists to provide emergency crisis intervention, suicide prevention, emotional support and referrals to community services; over the phone, to individuals in Kitchener, Cambridge, Guelph, Waterloo and surrounding areas, through empowering our callers to make their own decisions and to problem solve. Women's Crisis Services of Waterloo Region

Women's Crisis Services operates HAVEN HOUSE in Cambridge: the ONLY shelter for abused women and their children. We serve women aged 16 and above who are experiencing abuse. We also offer outreach services to women who are not living in shelter but need support to move beyond violence.
