Who Are We?
Play to Learn Preschool provides early childhood education to children ages 1 to 5 years. Children attend our early childhood program either 2 or 3 days per week, part day or full day. The program is conducted by directors and teachers. We offer a 9-month (school year) program as well as summer school opportunities during June and July. We have been providing scholarship assistance to families who cannot afford the tuition costs since 2005. During the 2013-14 school year, over $25,000 in assistance was given to the families enrolled at Play to Learn. Parenting Classes and Teacher Classroom Management Classes are also conducted by Play to Learn staff. These classes are 8 week classes that are DVD driven and facilitated by the director or other staff of Play to Learn. These classes are offered for free and they provide crucial social-emotional education to parents with children of all ages. They equip parents, teachers, and other adults with skills that are helpful, rather than hurtful, to society in general. Adult Education such as a couponing class or allergy awareness classes have been offered by Play to Learn as well. These classes are conducted by volunteers from the community or our preschool community. These classes are free and their purpose is to educate people and equip them with knowledge that will help keep them financially and/or physically safe. Bible and Book Studies are offered during the day at Play to Learn Ministries. These classes are conducted by Play to Learn staff, volunteers from the community, or members of our preschool family. Children’s Clothing Exchanges are held at Play to Learn Ministries. People donate their gently used children’s clothing, volunteers and a Play to Learn staff person organize the exchange, and we hold a week of free shopping days for the preschool family and anyone from the community. A clothing exchange is held in the fall and in the spring. A Toy Exchange is held each December at Play to Learn. People donate new toys or used toys that are in good shape, volunteers organized the toys, and free shopping occurs for one week.
