Angels with Missing Pieces

We are a local 501(c)3 non-profit set up to raise awareness and provide support to families and individuals dealing with 22q11.2 Deletion Syndrome, the second most common genetic condition. We have several events during the year to raise awareness, such as "22q at the Zoo" and the Fall Fun Fest. We also have physical support groups quarterly and donate gift bags to Children's Mercy Hospital for newly diagnosed inpatients.

Blair’s Foster Socks brings comfort and hope to children in distressed situations through a simple but effective means: clean, fun socks and scholarships.

Community Blood Center of Greater Kansas City

A generation of Kansas Citians has grown up with Community Blood Center. They know if they, or someone they love needs blood in an emergency, Community Blood Center will make sure it's there. That's what Community Blood Center does. - CBC relies solely on volunteer blood donors to meet the community’s blood needs.580 donations are needed each day to meet area hospitals' needs. - By just making one donation, you can help as many as two patients. Your blood can be divided into blood components - platelets, plasma and red cells. - The requirements to donate blood are few. You must be at least 16 years of age, in good health and weigh at least 115 pounds.

Community Services League

Community Services League, in existence since 1916, serves Blue Springs residents that need emergency assistance, employment support, or housing-related services.

Hope House

Hope House services form a safety net of prevention, education and support for thousands of people traumatized by domestic violence every year. Residential services are provided through two secure locations in Independence and Lee’s Summit, Missouri and comprehensive outreach services are provided to those not needing secure shelter.

Paws 4 Autism

The Paws 4 Autism trifecta of Autism+Dogs+Kids brings together dog lovers, the professionals who work with and support autism, and the community to support children with autism, neurologic disorders and their families. Paws For Autism's Canine Assisted Social Skills In Education (CASSIE) Program helps children with autism learn and improve their social and communication skills by using ABA techniques in conjunction with an autism service dog.

Special Neighbors, Inc.

Special Neighbors is a private, nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization. It was founded in 1978 by a group of parents of, and advocates for, people with developmental disabilities. Their purpose for establishing Special Neighbors was to provide quality residential services to persons with developmental disabilities living in eastern Jackson County. Over the past 35 years, the Special Neighbors Board of Directors and leadership team have expanded services to meet the growing needs of individuals with developmental disabilities in Jackson County. We currently support 87 individuals with developmental disabilities in Independence, Blue Springs, Lee's Summit, Kansas City and Grandview. We offer a variety of residential options, including group homes, a semi-independent apartment program and individualized supported living in a person's own home.

A nonprofit Catholic healthcare center providing inpatient and outpatient physical, occupational and speech therapy. We also provide 24 hour extended care, respite short-term recuperative care, hospice care, care for all stages of Alzheimer's disease,amputee care, intermediate care and residential care.
