Who Are We?
We strive to respect all people equally, encourage a sense of community; extend a caring hand; develop each person’s unique strengths and life skills. We conduct ourselves to: Actively seek community partnerships; Use our resources efficiently; Honour everyone’s right to confidentiality. Our services extend beyond simply providing food. Our programs are designed to build skills that help people move out of the cycle of poverty. We offer a full range of programs within our facility including: the provision of Emergency Food Assistance, the Food Co-operative program, Infant, Youth, Adult and Seniors Program and Employment Readiness Programs. Programs provided by outside agencies available at our facility include: Family Counselling Centre of Cambridge and North Dumfries; Waterloo Region Community Legal Services and ACCKWA.


Our Mission
Our Mission At the Cambridge Self-Help Food Bank, our services extend beyond simply providing food. We’re more than “a Food Bank”. We provide both emergency and proactive services that help people either recover from or avoid another crisis. Although we’re best known for our food distribution, we also offer a broad range of support programs that assist people to become, and remain, self sufficient. These programs can help build self-esteem, instill confidence, and create hope where none existed before.
